WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 31, 2024 – The Small Business Multi-Cloud Coalition (SBMCC) today launched as a collective advocacy group dedicated to innovation within government IT operations. The coalition formed with a three-pronged mission: battling vendor lock, incentivizing multi-cloud, and FedRAMP modernization.
Anthony Rivera, founding member of SBMCC and CEO of Aretec released the following statement:
“As a founding member of SBMCC and an industry veteran, I have seen firsthand how a multi-cloud strategy is the catalyst for efficiency and innovation. A mono-cloud solution limits the ability to imagine those bold and innovative approaches that result in the most ambitious results. To address this, we strive to maximize the utilization of multi-cloud strategies and approaches, ensuring efficient resource allocation, workload optimization, and agility across cloud platforms. We look forward to the work we will accomplish together and the new heights we will reach for our federal infrastructure in our ever-evolving world.”
Geg Callan, founding member of SBMCC and President of Daston Corporation released the following statement:
“I am proud to declare our unwavering dedication to the Small Business Multi-Cloud Coalition. Our collective commitment revolves around the imperative task of enlightening policymakers about the pivotal role that multi-cloud environments play. We firmly believe in the transformative impact these environments have on delivering secure and innovative government services for public sector organizations and their dedicated contractor community. At Daston, our focus is laser-sharp, centered on three crucial goals: battling vendor lock, championing multi-cloud adoption, and playing an active role in the implementation of the FedRAMP Modernization memo.“
Steve Hull, founding member of SBMCC and President of Westwind Computer Products released the following statement:
"Westwind Computer Products, Inc. Is proud to be one of the founding members of the SBMCC and bring over 25 years of experience as a Woman-Owned Small business supporting various government agencies. Through this time, we have witnessed the evolution of technology and worked to keep up with the ever-changing intricacies of the federal space. With the proper Multi-cloud solution, you gain visibility across all your cloud environments, track costs and usage, implement consistent security controls for data, applications, policies, and migrate workloads to increase availability. We hope that together with the SBMCC, we can help to ease the adoption and help them fully realize the benefits of a multi-cloud solution."
Zach Walker, founding member of SBMCC and Managing Partner of ATX Defense released the following statement:
“I am honored to be a founding member of the Small Business Multi-Cloud Coalition. We have seen how over-dependence on a single vendor can create vulnerabilities and potential points of exploitation by adversaries. Battling vendor lock and incentivizing multi-cloud mitigates these risks while ensuring a more resilient and robust digital infrastructure. SBMCC's approach aligns with the need for constant vigilance and adaptation in the face of evolving threats from great power competitors. FedRAMP modernization is indispensable in an era of increasingly sophisticated and often state-sponsored cyber threats. ATX Defense focuses exclusively on the defense and national security community and is proud to support SBMCC's efforts to create a more resilient and robust digital infrastructure."
SBMCC will be advocating for ways that will ensure customers have the ability to choose the most innovative and secure IT products and services, switching between vendors seamlessly and as they see fit.
